I was quite nervous about trying the bed wetting alarm with our 7 year old son. He has never been dry at nights but he also still has daytime accidents, so I wasn’t sure how successful it would be. My son really wanted to try it. The 1st night he wet 3 times. Then a week of wetting twice each night. Day 9 he had his first ever dry night! We are just about to start week 7 and we have had 25 dry nights so far! When we do have a wet night now it’s only usually a tiny bit of wee in his undies, not the soaking wet bed and clothes we used to get. We’ve got to 6 dry nights in a row twice, which has been amazing. We had a couple of nights early on when the alarm didn’t go off - think it was maybe interference from a baby monitor we had. We started by trying the sensor in a pad technique, but we prefer the between 2 undies method. Definitely recommend having a plastic sheet between the mattress protector and the sheet - particularly for those first couple of weeks. Appreciate the reading resources online - they were really helpful.
It is great he has has so many dry nights and is showing so much improvement. Well done! Thanks for your feedback will be very helpful for other parents!
I highly recommend DRI Sleeper Eclipse for any families with older children who are still in nappies at night. This alarm really works! We used this for my 9 year old and after about a month, we are now completely dry at night and his confidence has soared. It's so sensitive, that you and your child can sleep easy knowing for sure that if the alarm hasn't gone off, they are dry. What I also loved was the website, which has so much helpful supporting information. Thank you DRI Sleeper!
It is great to hear that his confidence has improved, a great result! We wish him all the best for the future.
This worked really well for my just-turned-6 year old daughter. I was a bit sceptical, but after never having had a dry night, she was dry in about 3 days with no accidents after about 10 days. She was obviously ready, but this was the trigger she needed to help learn how to stay dry at night.
So glad this worked for her. All the best for the future!
We got this for our almost 7 year old that had not had a single dry night. She were excited to try it out and the results I still struggle to believe.
Night 1: the alarm went off and the nappy was wet, I took her straight to the toilet, but nothing extra to do.
Night 2: the alarm went off, only a little bit in the nappy, as we quickly went to the toilet where she finished the rest.
Night 3: the sensor wasn’t in the right spot, so we had a wet night
Night 4: the alarm went off, and pretty much the same as night 2
Night 5: she got up (maybe an hour after going to bed) and went to the toilet, a few times as she really didn’t want that alarm going off. I can’t remember how the rest of the night was (if it was dry or not)
Night 6: she started making extra efforts to get up and go to the toilet at bed time and just after, she then also started waking in the night to go, and she hasn’t had a wet night since.
We kept her in a nappy and got rid of the brolly sheet after a few more days, and then after about 2-3 weeks, ditched the nappies/pull ups.
I can’t believe how quickly this sorted an issue we’d had for so long.
Wish I’d tried this years ago
She has done really well to get bedwetting sorted so quickly. All the best for the future!
